La perdida 'Malas Uvas' 2019
This is a mountain white wine. Mineral driven, savoury, herbaceous and somewhat saline with softer fruit notes apricot, green apple and melon rounding everything out. Completely unique and a testament to the winemaker (Nacho Gonzales) skill.
5 day maceration on skins and then a gentle press into stainless. once fermentation began, 200kg of gently pressed Godello berries were added in Nacho's version of a doble pasta infusion.
The name 'Malas Uvas' or 'bad grapes' refers to the fact that Palomino and Dona Branca are technically not permitted under the Valdeorras DO. While usually there is a portion of Don Branca in this wine, the 2019 vintage is straight up Palomino
