Domaine Vincent Ricard 'Tasciaca' 2018
Nectarine and a little spice on the nose with a tropical fruits on the palette. Plenty of texture from the use of old oak (more on that below). Mouth watering acidity and a long finish.
In Loire is it not generally typical to use oak in the production of Sauvignon, however Vincent Ricard is no stranger to going against the grain to produce the wines he wants to. The use of oak (old French oak) in this wine is more for creating texture and complexity, as old oak does not impart much flavour to the wine.
